Arggh 2

I have been having trouble with my computer and peoplepc.com.
They sent me an update for my security pack and it deleted a bunch of my stuff. Finally,
I called Tech support ( I would rather take a beating than call them.) I got exactly zero from them. Did you know all of the tech support people from Peoplepc. live in India. What about our people without jobs????? I have trouble understanding their accent on the phone.
The thing is I don't know how to fix my problem . I can not afford to have someone come out and fix it.
Well, I will stop here before I run my blood pressure up "sky high."
Have a gret week-end all my blogger friends.

I am sorry that you are having problems with your 'puter. I sometimes forget how lucky I am to be married to a fellow who is a "computer guy" by trade.
I am NOT making this up my V. word is mordumb!
I hope that the update/patch for your security pack does not make your computer even mordumb!!

Well, Alex,
It is mordumb and it is driving me crazy. Could you send your husband over to check this out ? lol

I find that working on it myself then leaving it alone for a while then trying again, usually ends up with it fixed after several very frustrating tries and then I feel so proud of myself for not letting it get the best of me:) Good luck, you can do it!

Did you know you can actually request to speak with a person IN the USA? I have before when I couldn't understand the accent. I don't remember what company I did it with but it never hurts to try. They don't know you & vise-versa so you don't have to worry about hurting their feelings. Just say, "I'm sorry but I just can't understand what you are saying, could you give me a number to speak with someone that is actually in the U.S.--Good Luck
P.S. my "V" word is "sluckli"

Hi, Liz
I did not know that I could ask to speak to someone I could understand. Thanks, for that info.
I like that V. word, do you ever wonder how much they pay someone to sit around and make up the words ?? lol
Have a good week-end.

Hello Lovely Leslie..Oh no! Computer troubles you don't need. Yes a lot of the call centres now are based in India and other places in the Asian region. The call centre staff are usually okay but yes it's easier to talk to someone in your own country. Hope you are okay and the weather is warming up after that very cold winter you had.

Love and hugs
Liz

Hi Liz,

When does your winter start there ?
It is getting a little warmer here but, today it is cloudy and looks like rain, so it feels chilly.
No, I do not need computer problems and I can't get anyone to help me at Tech support. So I don't know what I am going to do.
But, I do have a car now !!!!

My internet bod, BT, has Broadband Help people in India, but most of them have been terrific - patient, polite and very knowledgeable on how to put everything right. In fact, I had a nice chat to one of them yeaterday, when I got a silly notice saying ' Check you IP Provider'... My what?! Good Luck with yours today...

Goood Morning Leslie. Did you know that most US Company Giants farm out most of their work to other countries? I am sure you do, it's just the sentence to start my comment. Yeah, big let down for all of us here. Great for the large companies, they get to pay little to nothing for wages to their "employees" that way. Guess the almighty dollar speaks. Funny how when I look at any of my bills no lips are moving. Sheesh, I want Bill Gates dollars where there's all kinds of words spoken. Yup, he's in on it too. Wanna go "Microsoft"? You'll land in India as well. Aren't those accents horrible? To top it off, sometimes we get "sent" to another country and I swear not only do their accents keep us from understanding them, but I swear at times they don't know the true meaning behind the words in an English dictionary as often I don't think they understand a word I've tried telling them. Don't get me wrong, I love people from everywhere and we have a lot of people out my way who have re-located from India and they are some of the greatest people I know with beautiful children. I am however against spending my money with a company here only to get S@$T for customer service or tech support and zipped off to another country where the problem only seems to get worse instead of better. The loyalties should remain with customers and in provideing them with the best possible service. After all it is OUR money being spent on their product. Did you say High Blood Pressure? Yikes, I better stop here then....

On another note. I am soooo sorry to hear about you 'puter problems. I know how frustratng and disheartening it can be. Especially when the money isn't available to hire someone to help fix the problem and we lack the knowledge ourselfves to fix the problem. Not that it helps, but I am thinking of you and wish you the best in getting it fixed.

Hee Hee, glad you like my "Cowboy" pic caption. That's my first post in forever as I've been terribly busy and sick. Finally I am doing better and hope to get back to my blog a little at a time.

Oops, I just took a look at my comment here. Wow, lengthy when it gets squeezed into a four inch wide area. Sorry.

So sorry to hear about your computer. It can be so frustrating, and makes a person weary. I am finally sending your "Random Acts of Kindness" gift in the mail tomorrow. Had a lot going on, and wanted to make you something handmade. Hope you like it!! Hugs, Nan

That is so frustrating to need help and can't get it. It is time consuming too! Good Luck.

Should we, at this point, be fearing the worst? Has your computer bit the dust? We're eager to know when you are up and running again.

Oh, sorry! I've spent a few hours with the folks in India before, so I know exactly what you are talking about! Fortunately, they were able to help me. Hope things look up real soon!
